Until it hits another wall by introducing the time travel element AGAIN! And once again, there is another plot hole. If Qubit can travel backwards and forwards so freely, why doesn’t he just go back to before Plutonian is and just stop him from being born? It’s a massive, gaping plot hole that isn’t answered because to answer it is to dispel Waid’s cash cow. By page 2 I was questioning why the book was still going. What happens in this book? Well, it’s done with, that’s what.īut I will say that including frequent and casual time travel into a story should be outlawed. See, I get to read other, better books now that I’m done with Waid’s bumpy, boring ride to the garbage dump of comics.

Next to Kingdom Come, it’s Waid’s crowning achievement. I didn’t rate all the books at five stars, one I even gave only three, and the story as a whole could have been trimmed by, say, six issues and would have been tight as a drum but, and I’ve typed this before, and yet still, it bears repeating: If you like your comics sporting capes and/or cowls, you really should pick this up. Second, the rating for this issue is more a reflection on the series as whole and not this particular volume, which comes in at about 4 stars. *sob*īottom line: First, props to my library for actually having all ten volumes of this saga, it’ll be a cold day in hell and all that…. The coda was a nice punch in the feels and a respectful nod at the history and art of comic book story telling. Plus, science plays dirty, cuz it has to. Science always wins against the complete absence of science or logic. How can you go up against someone that defies the laws of physics?
